PVTrans welcomes bulk carrier PVT Peridot to its fleet

Close to the end of a successful year of investment in 2024, PetroVietnam Transportation Corporation (PVTrans) had welcomed a new bulk carrier – PVT Peridot to its fleet on December 12th 2024, in Japan. PVT Peridot was built in January 2013, which has capacity of 57.300 DWT and fully meets the stringent international maritime safety and technical standards. After acquiring, the bulk carrier was immediately put into operation, further improving PVTrans’s transport capacity.

In 2024, PVTrans and its subsidiaries successfully invested in 08 new tankers, including product tanker, chemical tanker, LPG carrier and bulk carrier. The diversification of vessel types reflects the strategic vision of PVTrans’s leadership, as it not only promptly meets market demands but also maintains a balanced fleet structure to minimize risks associated with fluctuations in individual transport segments and optimize operational efficiency. Currently, PVTrans operates a fleet of 58 vessels with a total capacity exceeding 1.6 million DWT, with nearly 85% of the fleet actively serving international routes, including high-demand markets such as Europe and North America.

The acquisition of the PVT Peridot further strengthens PVTrans' strategy of fleet expansion and rejuvenation. Alongside its goal of enhancing transport capacity, PVTrans places sustainable development at the core of its operations, investing in a modern, younger fleet equipped with advanced technologies to optimize operational efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, and lower emissions. These efforts not only improve service quality and meet stringent international standards but also solidify PVTrans' leading position in the maritime transport sector, building strong trust with shareholders, customers, and partners while making a positive contribution to the global maritime industry's sustainable development goals.
